The Perfect Valentine's Day Gift

For Valentine’s Day this year, it wasn’t about chocolates or flowers. We were incredibly lucky to have our install day fall on such a fun holiday.

The new railings are custom made with a Chinese Chippendale pattern and two built-in lockable gates, one at the top and one at the bottom. Our old railings were unsafe for El, out of code, and impossible to finagle a temporary gate that would still allow us to move up and down the stairs easily with a little one when needed.

Tyler went in to work and El and I popped out for a playdate in the morning, so our old railings could be removed and these could be installed. Everything looked to perfection when we got home a couple hours later.
