2022 Year in Review
The Past 30 Days
We’re enjoying the magic of the winter holidays in Portland so much this year! We went to Zoo Lights and picked out a Christmas tree in late November, then played in the snow, baked cookies, went roller skating (for the first time), and visited Peacock Lane in December.
The Past 12 Months
1 - Eleanor started primary school this year and we are all loving it! Sicknesses aside (she missed her first week of school and only attended 8.5 days in November), she's had the chance to meet and spend time new friends, explore new materials each day, and overhear new songs (ABCDweeFG!). We're big fans as well, because we get more time to focus on our work while she's there and have more energy for fun together on the weekends. Win-win!
2 - We welcomed and showed a number of visitors around Portland. We had fun playing ball and looking at pictures in our backyard with Nana and Grandpa Dale, walking to coffee with Meemaw and Grandpa, and visiting the Japanese Gardens with Aunt Dana. Hoping for more visitors soon!
3 - We took an extended roadtrip through California this summer, visiting family and friends in Sacramento, Fresno, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and the Bay Area. We had a great time staying in fun and eclectic houses, playing in and around the ocean, counting bells on El Camino Real, and more!
4 - This was the year of Mike Bennett - You can read more about some of the offerings here, but the best part was the original dinosaurs we adopted and brought home, along with a variety of winter friends from the Snow Day pop-up store (like the seal, Sasquatch, wreath, and ornaments in the photo below)!
Looking Ahead
This week, we have a front landscaping project starting and we’re taking a holiday roadtrip down to Fresno! Next year, we anticipate a variety of family trips and lots more learning and growing to do.
