A Better Southern View
This pesky leak started back up again in December. After contacting contractors, presenting options to our HOA, and waiting for the rain to die down enough for the work to begin, the leak is finally taken care of!
It turns out that our new windows were at risk, since the water was intruding through the siding, so in May, they set up scaffolding again and tore off the original siding. Underneath the old siding, there was old paper acting as waterproofing, but no plywood, so plywood was added and the waterproofing was upgraded.
We lost another set of interior shutters (more by choice this time) and gained a sturdier, unblemished, Southern-facing wall. I think we're much more prepared for the rain this year... but only time will tell.
