Prioritizing with Wunderlist
Tyler and I were in the beginning stages of our dating relationship when he created a calendar allowing us to share important dates and events. This was perfect early on, since we mostly focused on things we got to do together.
As we began working towards becoming a cohesive household, however, it was clear that we needed more organizational flexibility than a calendar could offer, in regards to tasklists and goals. It was time to try out a new (or in my case, old) method of getting us, and keeping us, on track.
We needed to track checklists, repeating tasks, and overall goals, that were getting lost in the calendar shuffle. I turned to Wunderlist, which I hadn't used in quite some time, and started entering anything and everything I was keeping in my head. Over time, the brain dump developed into the system shown here.
We keep a running tally of needed groceries and have a packing list we use each time we have to travel, both of which we can just uncheck previously completed "tasks" to make sure we get them again. We used it a ton as we brainstormed ideas for the wedding and will use it to ensure an efficient move once we land our dream home.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by things that you know need to get done, but don't yet know when or how to tackle them, I highly recommend checking out Wunderlist. Once you're set up, just jot down what needs to be done and give it a date (even if it's just when you want to decide on a future completion date).
Good luck!
